Natural artisan honey from us to you. We, Elisa and Mikko, are 6th of Alhainen generations living on this farm. Our passion is natural beekeeping and producing premium quality artisan honey. We also want to enhance biodiversity and provide natural habitats for wildlife here. We are one of the few WILDLIFE ESTATES in Finland.

After studying in Helsinki we came back to raise our family here. We wanted to do our share of keeping the countryside alive. After moving back, Elisa was intrigued how honey had been used as a natural cure as well as a delicacy and a sweetener before commercial sugar. She is the visionary behind our honey and has studied beekeeping ever since.

Mikko works for Finnish Wildlife Agency and is responsible for awarded Wetlands Projects. Our wetland bird pastures are inspired by Mikko’s experiences with these projects. Wildlife friendly management of forests and agricultural areas are an integral part of the biodiversity enhancing work in the farm.

We have also four little helpers Fanni, Alli, Eeva and Ville. Grandfather Risto lives at the farm too and is a great help with his knowledge of farming methods. We keep bees, grow our own vegetables, have bunnies, summer sheep, chicken and our trusted dachshund Moto guards the grounds.

We are an established Wildlife Estates Label farm committed to promoting biodiversity and providing wildlife a healthy and natural environment. Here the landscape looks as farmland used to in the past. Meadow flowers flourish between oat fields and pastures, serving as a lush lunch table for our bees as well as wild insects and butterflies.

Our wetlands provide migratory birds a safe nesting habitat and landing spots to feed on migration. Wildlife Estates are all about sustainable rural way of living as well as improving and restoring biodiversity.

Single Origin Wildlife Estate Honey is our premium product. Bees gather it only here, on meadows and woods around our family farm and it comes from a limited amount of hives. This natural golden treasure is rich with delicate meadow flower aromas complemented by wild woodland notes of blueberry and lingonberry blossoms from surrounding conifer forest.
